Ballyfin, Ireland
Ballyfin Demesne is a 21-bedroom country house hotel on a private estate beneath the Slieve Bloom Mountains. Its centrepiece is a neoclassical mansion with classical reception rooms, period furnishings and a collection of art and antiques; beyond it, the grounds include woodland, formal gardens, follies and a lake. The house was restored and reopened as a hotel in 2011. The experience is shaped as much by exploring the estate and its history as by staying in the house.
Cashel, Ireland
In Cashel town, at the foot of the Rock of Cashel, this 42-bedroom hotel occupies a restored Palladian manor first built in 1732 as an archbishop’s residence. It reopened as a five-star hotel on 1 March 2022, preserving historic interiors while adding contemporary guest facilities. A private garden path links the grounds to the Rock, and the hotel’s dining, bars and spa make the property a destination in its own right as well as a base for exploring Tipperary.
Enniskerry, Ireland
Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa occupies a 1,000-acre estate near Enniskerry, with the Wicklow Mountains and Sugar Loaf views shaping its countryside setting. The Palladian-style hotel has 198 rooms and suites, including family and interconnecting options. Its defining draw is the combination of estate scenery and a substantial indoor spa and leisure offering, with an indoor pool, spa treatments and dining on site. Dublin city centre is about a 30-minute drive away.
Dublin, Ireland
In Georgian Dublin, opposite Government Buildings, The Merrion brings together four restored Georgian townhouses and a contemporary Garden Wing arranged around two private gardens. Its 142 bedrooms and suites range from period rooms with rococo plasterwork and marble fireplaces to more contemporary wing accommodation. The experience is shaped by this contrast between historic interiors and modern city-hotel life, with Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, The Cellar Bar, The Garden Room and No. 23 Cocktail Bar on site.
