Singita Pamushana Lodge occupies a sandstone ridge in the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in southeastern Zimbabwe, overlooking Malilangwe Dam. Suites sit among the trees, with river views and private plunge pools; the unfenced camp allows wildlife to move through. Its setting keeps the focus firmly on the surrounding ecosystem.

The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara

The Royal Livingstone occupies landscaped riverbank grounds inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Its 173 rooms and suites are arranged in four categories, with the hotel’s gardens offering direct access to the falls. The Zambezi is part of the stay’s daily backdrop, and wildlife including zebras roams the grounds. The defining experience is unusually close contact with both the river landscape and the falls, rather than a base in Livingstone town.

On Osprey Lagoon in Botswana’s Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, Wilderness DumaTau is a small safari camp between elephant corridors, with access to the Linyanti River floodplain and Savuti Channel. Its eight tented suites stand on raised wooden walkways, each with a private plunge pool; interiors use hand-crafted mosaic tile, acacia wood and local textiles. Rebuilt and reopened in 2021, the camp pairs land-based game drives with boating on nearby waterways. Little DumaTau is a separate sister camp nearby.
