Gibb’s Farm
Karatu, Tanzania
On the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater, Gibb’s Farm occupies a former coffee plantation above Karatu. Its early-20th-century agricultural history continues in a working organic estate of coffee, produce gardens, flowers and livestock. Guests stay in individual cottages or two-bedroom farm houses scattered around garden grounds, with the farmhouse serving as the hub for dining and farm activities. The setting suits a slower pause between safari drives, with Lake Manyara and the crater reached by road.
