The Jefferson, Washington, DC
Washington, United States
The Jefferson is an independent, 99-room hotel in downtown Washington, housed in a 1923 Beaux-Arts building that began as luxury apartments before becoming a hotel in 1955. A later renovation recovered the building’s original lobby skylight, now above The Greenhouse; book-lined spaces and a resident historian carry the history through the guest experience. Its downtown corner location puts it three blocks north of the White House, within reach of Dupont Circle and the city’s museums.
