The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

1 / 10

The takeaway

Choose it for the rare Strip-room terrace and a resort where the casino, ambitious dining, pools and nightlife are all part of the same address.

About the hotel

On the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, The Cosmopolitan is a vertical, multi-tower resort and casino with 3,033 guestrooms, including 1,412 suites. Many rooms pair residential-style living areas with private terraces overlooking the city or its fountains. The 100,000-square-foot casino sits within a larger resort built around dining, nightlife, live events, contemporary art and three distinct pool experiences. Its scale is unmistakably Vegas, while the terrace rooms give the stay a more urban-residential angle.

Choose it if

You want a private terrace and city or fountain views as part of your room, not just a view from a public deck.
You like having a substantial restaurant collection, casino, pools and nightlife gathered inside one large Strip resort.
You want a central Strip base between CityCenter and Bellagio, with other nearby resorts connected by a covered pedestrian bridge.

Skip it if

You want a quiet, remote setting: this is a large casino resort in the heart of the Strip, with nightlife and gaming on site.
You expect a pool dayclub to be an all-ages experience; Marquee Dayclub is for guests 21 and older.

Guest discussion

What real people are saying.

Reddit excerpts · separate from Rex’s editorial judgment

One guest valued being able to watch the Strip and fountains from bed, contrasting that view with another tower where they had to go outside to see anything. Another guest said their room type was overbooked and they were downgraded after VIP guests received priority.

Discussion is limited; these accounts offer a glimpse rather than a broad verdict.

“The nice part was you could easily lay in bed and watch the strip and fountain, (the boulevard tower we had to be outside to see anything bc we were high up).”

CityHistoric

On Monaco’s Place du Casino, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo puts guests in the middle of the principality’s grand public stage: the casino square, its event calendar and a steady sweep of city life. The Belle Époque palace dates to 1864 and now has 206 rooms, including suites; its restaurant roster includes Le Louis XV–Alain Ducasse and Le Grill, while historic wine cellars add a distinctive layer to the stay. The appeal is as much the address and its spectacle as the hotel itself.

On Cannes’ Mediterranean waterfront, Carlton Cannes occupies the Croisette in a landmark Belle Époque building whose original neoclassical façade was retained through a two-year renovation and extension. Opened in 1913 and reopened on March 13, 2023, it pairs its historic architecture with a newly enclosed interior garden, infinity pool, spa and private beach club across the boulevard. The substantial room-and-suite inventory and 37 residences give the property a scale closer to a grand resort than a small Cannes boutique hotel.
