What real people are saying.

Reddit excerpts · separate from Rex’s editorial judgment

Guests describe Palazzo as less crowded and easier to navigate; one says the escalators made it easy to get around the hotel, casino, canal shops and Sphere, though reaching the room still involved plenty of escalators. Another guest liked the rooms and staff but felt management had lost perspective.

“I like the rooms, the staff is great, but whoever is managing things has lost perspective.”

“I stayed at Palazzo last week and other than getting to/from hotel room plenty of escalators throughout property to navigate both the hotel, casino, canal shops and the sphere with ease.”

Aman Venice occupies Palazzo Papadopoli, a 16th-century residence on the Grand Canal in San Polo. With 24 guestrooms and suites, it feels more like a private palazzo than a large city hotel: rooms begin at 47 square metres, and some retain historic frescoes and other architectural details. Two private gardens offer a rare patch of green within the canal-lined city. Arva serves Italian cuisine in the palazzo, with garden dining available in warmer months.

Orient Express Venezia occupies Palazzo Donà Giovannelli, a 15th-century palace at a meeting of canals in Cannaregio. Reworked as a 47-unit hotel by architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d’Amman, it pairs the building’s Neo-Gothic and Baroque character with restored frescoes, mosaic floors and contemporary interiors. Rooms, suites and apartments give the property a residential scale; its courtyard, garden and canal-side position bring the surrounding Venetian streets and waterways into the stay.
