Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

1 / 10

The takeaway

Choose Pedregal for private plunge-pool rooms, a dramatic Pacific-facing setting, and a tunnel arrival that still leaves Cabo’s marina and downtown close by.

About the hotel

On a 24-acre site at the southern tip of Baja California, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal occupies a rugged stretch of coast in Cabo San Lucas’s Pedregal neighborhood. Arrival is through the privately owned Dos Mares tunnel; downtown and the marina are within walking distance. The resort’s 112 rooms and suites, along with its larger casitas and villas, pair ocean-facing terraces with private plunge pools. It suits travelers who want a secluded-feeling base close to town, rather than a remote escape.

Choose it if

You want a private plunge pool and ocean view built into every room and suite.
You want a resort setting with a distinctive tunnel approach, while keeping Cabo’s marina and downtown within walking distance.
You’re planning a family gathering or group stay and want multi-bedroom casitas, villas, or beachfront suites.

Skip it if

You want to swim directly off the resort’s beach: the hotel advises against it because of strong currents.

What real people are saying.

Reddit excerpts · separate from Rex’s editorial judgment

Guests report sharply different experiences: one called the stay their best at any property, while another encountered construction noise that had not been disclosed before arrival. A separate guest found the food good but not exceptional and said in-room dining was slow.

“Our only negative here is the hotel was under construction in ~50% of their rooms. This was not announced prior to our arrival, and we spent some of the trip listening to drills, hammers, etc. from the construction.”

“Food is good, not great. In room dining takes a while to arrive.”

“This was, without a doubt, the best stay I’ve ever had at a property (Hilton or not).”
